Yasin Adem Wedajo
Yasin ADEM

He earned his Bachelor degree in Chemistry in 2009 from Wolaita Sodo University in Ethiopia He then earned his MSc. degree in Inorganic Chemistry with a thesis entitled “Determination of Zinc in Infants and Young Children Foods available in Pharmacies and Supermarkets using Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy” from Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia in 2011. Presently, he has joined BERC lab. and studying protein engineering so as to be honoured with a PhD degree at Gebze Technical University, Turkey.



Berin received her BSC degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics from Istanbul Arel University in 2016. She worked on ion channels in bladder cancer under the supervision of Mustafa Djamgoz at Imperial College of London during the autumn of 2015. In September 2018, she finished her MSc in Molecular Biology and Genetics in Gebze Technical University and she is currently doin Ph. D. about recombinant enzym producing at the BERC lab.


Zeynep Efsun DUMAN

Zeynep Efsun Duman achieved her BSc degree in bioengineering at Marmara University by achieving the second-highest cumulative average among the graduates of the Department of Bioengineering. After her graduation, she started to Biochemistry MSc program at the University of Bonn. Currently, she is a research assistant at the Department of Bioengineering and GTU, Industrial Biotechnology MSc candidate at the Gebze Technical University. She worked as an intern at the Department of Immunology of Aziz Sancar Institute of Experimental Medicine in 2015 and went to the Institute of Polymer Science and Technology, Spain with Erasmus+ Grant in 2016. She accepted as a guest researcher by the Process and Systems Engineering Centre, DTU in 2019. Her interests are focused on bioprocess engineering, biochemistry, media engineering, recombinant enzyme production, yeast, and bacteria expression systems.

Mehmet Mervan ÇAKAR

Mervan has a BSc in Molecular Biology and Genetics (IAU, 2014) and MSc in Chemistry (GTU, 2018). He studied on biocatalysis, biotransformation, cloning, protein engineering, protein purification, enzyme kinetics with substrates and inhibitors, activity assays, and high-throughput screening. In his subsequent position as a Visiting Researcher in the research group of Nicholas J. Turner at the University of Manchester, He studied the application of several biocatalysts for industrial use. Now he is an Industrial PhD Fellow at Hayat Kimya under the supervision of Dr. Barış BİNAY.



Ersin graduated from Biology department from Anadolu University in 2011. He then received his MSc degree in Biotechnology from Ege University in 2015. He started PhD education in Molecular Biology and Genetics department from Gebze Technical University in 2016. During his MSc, he worked as a researcher in Medical University of Lodz from Poland Lodz under supervision of Dr. Anna SELMI. He worked as Research Assistant at Bezmialem Vakıf Üniversity for 3 years before started PhD education. His studing topics are Enzymology, Homolog and heterolog protein producing, Monoclonal antibody producing, Biotransformation and Yeast fermentation



Ğarip received his BSc ( 2016) and MSc (2018) degrees in Molecular Biology and Genetics from Gebze Technical University. In his master studies, he conducted to increase antibiotic production in Streptomyces coelicolor by deletion of ppk gene . Now he is doing PhD at BERC Lab.
